Pre-season NFL Action Heats Up in Green Bay
The familiar sounds of cheering crowds and hard-hitting action delight NFL fans as the Green Bay Packers open their summer training camp from late July through late August.
Packers fans from across the country fill the bleachers and line the fences for the opportunity to get an up close and personal vantage point of their favorite players as they sweat through two-a-day practices chock-full of drills, conditioning and scrimmages.
Practice times vary by day-either morning, afternoon, or evening practices. Beginning in 2009, practices will take place on the new Ray Nitschke Field with bleacher seating for all. Many fans show up early to find the best viewing spot for the free practices.
Of course, the Green Bay Packers fun isn't limited to the on-field action. Located across the street is the Lambeau Field Atrium, home to the Packers Pro Shop, special event facilities, the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and Curly's Pub. Visitors can immerse themselves in everything green and gold.
During Packers training camp, the Packers Experience, located in the Lambeau Field parking lot, gives young fans the opportunity to get into the game with a variety of interactive/inflatable football games. Try the Extra Point Kick, run the obstacle course and celebrate success with Leap into Lambeau. Fun for the whole family, The Packers Experience is open various days/hours during Training Camp.
