Rustic roads, rolling countryside, farms and forests characterize the area around Black River Falls. A little excitement in the form of gambling at the nearby Majestic Pines Bingo & Casino or ATV riding on the county trails is also available.
In eastern Jackson County, 67,000 acres of the Black River State Forest offer plenty of outdoor recreation. The forest includes two branches of the Black River as well as towering sandstone abutments. Backpacking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and family camping round out the forest offerings.
