Known as Green Lake Country, this area of unspoiled beauty offers four picturesque communities – a perfect setting for four seasons of getaway fun.
The shores of Green Lake have been a top tourism destination for more than a century. The lake is the deepest in the state; plunging 237 feet, its cool waters harbor an excellent trout and walleye fishery. The area’s resort offerings include water sports of every kind, four excellent golf courses, and a beautifully restored opera house.
To the north, Berlin straddles the Fox River. The city is an important agricultural hub on the northern edge of the Princeton Plateau – an area of rich farmland. In western Green Lake County, Princeton’s downtown is a delightful mix of boutiques and artisan shops. The city’s Saturday morning flea markets (May thru October) are legendary. To the south, Markesan sparkles in the midst of lush farmland. For a glimpse of local history, visit the town’s Grand River Valley Museum.
