Fifield Fire Tower

Built in 1932 the historic Fifield Fire Tower stands in tribute to the lookouts that spent long days in the small cabin atop the tower watching for wisps of smoke that might indicate a fire. The tower is just a short hike from the Wintergreen Trailhead parking area. Interpretive signs provide visitors with the history of the tower and region.

Directions

From Fifield, take Hwy 70 east 5 miles to the Wintergreen Trailhead parking area. Parking fee or national forest park pass required.
