Historic Octagon House
Featured on the History Channel's Secret Passages and American Pickers; reputed to be the second most haunted house in Wisconsin! This National Registered Historic home designed by Orson Fowler was built in 1856 by former mayor Isaac Brown. Later given to his son as a wedding gift, Edwin and Ruth (Pier) lived here until Edwin's death in the battle of Antietam. Nine secret passageways include a tunnel used on the "underground railroad". Admission is charged. Call ahead for seasonal hours and for group reservations.
