Wisconsin's Best Sports Bars
Posted on: 1/27/2011
As one might expect in a state where church services get moved to accommodate the Packer schedule and pre-game tailgate parties are considered an art form, Wisconsin boasts some of the largest and liveliest sports bars in the country. From the shadows of Lambeau Field to the favorite hang-out of the Milwaukee Bucks, visitors will find hundreds of sports-oriented establishments in which they can eat, drink, and cheer on their favorite team. Here are a few of our favorites:
Pooley's Sports Bar
Madison's largest and most interactive sports bar is the place to watch the big game! If you like sports memorabilia, this is your place. Pooley’s has an impressive collection of sports memorabilia that will blow away the biggest sports fan. You can also get in the game and play basketball or volleyball on the indoor courts.
Cited by Sports Illustrated as America’s 4th Best Sport Bar. More than just a convenient stop for a pre-game cheeseburger, its frequented by many Milwaukee Bucks and visiting NBA players.
Replay Sports Bar
Wall-to-wall flat screen TVs, great drinks specials and the Replay Burger Challenge. Devour a gut-busting 2 lb. Replay Burger with a 2 ½ lb. side of fries to make their wall of fame.
Big 10 Pub
Mere blocks from Camp Randall, home of the Wisconsin Badgers, the Big 10 Pub offers a free shuttle to Badger basketball and hockey at the Kohl Center. Rated “Best Friday Fish Fry” by The Wisconsin State Journal.
A favorite pre- and post-game meeting place for Packer fans. Be sure to get there early so you can join the crowd in “welcoming” the opposing team’s buses as they pull into the Lambeau parking lot.
Champ’s Sports Bar & Grill
Champ’s signed sports memorabilia from football to sailing and boxing will impress even the most ardent sports enthusiast. The 14 high-def TV’s and Friday Night Fish Fry are pretty terrific, too.
