Snow Tubing: Perfect for Skill-Less Thrill Seekers
Last Updated: 11/25/2013
Wisconsin winters are known for transforming the rolling, leaf-covered hillsides into snow-blanketed wonderlands that beckon you to enjoy their seasonal arenas of outdoor fun. If the rush of racing down a hill is what you seek but you would prefer to remain seated, check out one of these Wisconsin parks that offer snow tubing perfect for the whole family.
A snow tuber’s paradise! This tubing park offers slopes from “bunny” level to those seeking the thrills of a wild, daring ride. Their turbo-tubing area features one of the longest runs in the entire Midwest. For all skill levels and all thrill levels, Badlands offers tubing fun for the whole family – and they make their own snow!
Also featuring state of the art snowmaking capabilities, any winter Mother Nature sends us is the perfect season to enjoy snow tubing at Bruce Mound. Their park features five snow tubing runs along with a tow rope to bring you back to the top. Other features of the park include 10 slopes for skiing and snowboarding and lighted trails for night skiing.
The tubing park at Cascade Mountain underwent major renovations being unveiled for the 2013-2014 season. New this year is a 4,000 square foot building at the tubing park. When you need a break from swooshing and spinning down the slopes on your tube, enjoy the comfort and convenience of the new building and the amenities including plentiful seating, food service, restrooms, and a retail area. Cascade also makes snow and features a live “Snow Cam” on their site where you can keep an eye on the “snowfall” at the mountain.
Slopes at Mont du Lac are divided up by skill level, from beginner to intermediate to black diamond, offering a challenging and enjoyable atmosphere for all. Age and size requirements do apply and are dependent on snow conditions, so be sure to check before venturing out. A flat rate will let you play all day.
Offering a bounty of outdoor activities, Nordic Mountain is a true recreational paradise for winter sports’ enthusiasts. Their Stoneridge Tubing Park is sure to impress. Described as one of the most exciting tubing experiences around, they are home to a 90 ft vertical drop, a ride more than 400 yards long, and say that a ride down their chutes can approach speeds of 40 mph!
The Sunburst Ski Area has a tubing park ready to provide you with a thrilling ride, regardless of what the conditions in your backyard look like. They make their own snow to cover the twelve individual tubing chutes that make it one of the safest parks out there. Relax and enjoy your tow up one of the hook lifts or magic carpet before your race to the bottom. This entry was posted in Downhill Skiing/Snowboarding/Snow Tubing
