The Fair is one of the Wisconsin’s premier summer events, offering an exciting lineup of fun including thrilling rides, educational exhibits, delicious food and some of the best entertainment around! One of the first things that may pop into your mind when thinking about the Wisconsin State Fair is all of the delicious food. Whether you’re a fan of the Fair classics like corn dogs, cheese curds and deep-fried Snickers or you prefer the new creative concoctions each year like deep fried pretzel crusted brownies... on-a-stick of course!
Of course, what’s a trip to the Fair without a taste of the iconic Original Cream Puff? This tasty treat has been a staple of the Fair since 1924! You can grab these delicious cream-filled pastries at the Original Cream Puff Pavilion or grab a six-pack to go before leaving the park. In 2015, Fairgoers enjoyed more than 400,000 cream puffs!
The Wisconsin State Fair also offers countless entertainment options every single day with 30 free stages featuring some of the best local bands and entertainers. Keep an eye out for roving street entertainers, including magicians, acrobats and more!
The Wisconsin State Fair also features national headliners each year at the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Some of the headliners for the 2016 State Fair include Shawn Mendes, Halestorm, Rascal Flatts, Newsboys, Phillip Phillips, the Beach Boys, and many others!
Don’t miss the Fair’s amusement ride and game area, SpinCity! It features more than 55 rides and attractions, plus 30 fun games that are fun for all ages. It has spectacular high-speed rides for the thrill seekers, as well as Fair faves like the swings and the Ferris wheel. Stop by the Giant Slide for a 200 foot ride that you’ll want to go again and again!
Agriculture is one of Wisconsin’s largest industries and is at the core of the Wisconsin State Fair. With dairy and beef cattle, sheep, poultry, rabbits, goats, swine, horses and more, there are animals galore at the Fair. Whether attendees tour the barns, watch the shows and competitions or enjoy the excitement of the auction, the Wisconsin State Fair is a fantastic place for children and adults to learn about Wisconsin’s agriculture.
Stop by Horticulture, Craft & Culinary Pavilion for a walk through beautiful sculptured bonsais, orchids, dahlias, gladiolus, colorful cut flowers and a myriad of vegetables, as well as textiles, canned goods, pies, cakes and more.New to the competitions this year is the Mighty Old Fashioned Redefined contest, in which exhibitors will compete to create the best Brandy Old Fashioned, an iconic Wisconsin cocktail and supper club tradition!
