If you’re looking for a good night’s rest in unique surroundings, here are four of the state’s more unusual settings for small hotels and bed and breakfast inns.
Justin Trails Bed & Breakfast Resort
Hike or play disc golf on the two 18-hole courses on this former dairy farm’s hilly 213 acres. Visitors also can pamper the resident llamas and Siberian huskies, or enjoy the Elroy-Sparta state bike trail.
Thunder Valley Inn
Scandinavian heritage and hospitality fill this quiet 130-year-old farmstead, just minutes from all the action of the Dells. Lively fiddle music accompanies hearty threshing dinner shows. Open seasonally.
Kinni Creek Lodge and Outfitters
Learn fly fishing at this two-story log cabin on Main Street, near downtown and next to the Kinnickinnic River, known for its trout fishing. A spa, riding stables and Crystal Cave are nearby.
Norman General Store Bed & Breakfast and Quilt Shop
Check out quilting supplies, exhibits and classes at the 1870s store, attached to the antique-rich Czech inn. The sandy shores of Lake Michigan are among area attractions.
