Great Bass Fishing Cabins in Northern Wisconsin
Posted on: 4/12/2013
By Kevin Revolinski
Musky and Walleye are typical draws for northern Wisconsin fishing, so much so that often the bass get overlooked. But the fishermen in the know appreciate the abundance of smallmouth and largemouth bass in Wisconsin lakes and rivers. The Wisconsin DNR catch and release program at the start of the bass fishing season has given a boost to fish populations and made the Northwoods a dream destination for bass anglers.
The first thing you need to do is find a good bass fishing hole and pair it with a cabin rental. Here are five northern Wisconsin fishing cabin rentals where the bass are biting.
With more than 1,600 acres, the Class A Big St. Germain Lake is a true Wisconsin bass fishing hotspot. Twin Waters Rentals has a variety of cabin and cottage rentals including Tiger Musky, a two bedroom cottage which sits along a 300-foot sandy beach or Sunrise 7, a one-bedroom cottage with a campfire pit, beach access, and a fish-cleaning house. It also comes with its own slip at the pier.
Eastwood Cabins on Manitowish Chain of Lakes
What's better than one great bass fishing lake? How about ten of them? That's how many good bass fishing holes you've got strung together in the Manitowish Chain of Lakes. Nestled along the sandy shore of Spider Lake Bay, Eastwood Cabins in Manitowish Waters are close to a marina and offer screened-in porches, docking space and fireplaces.
Dillman's Bay Resort in Lac du Flambeau
Famous also as a temporary escape for gangster Baby Face Nelson, this is also a good hideout for the avid bass fisherman. Dillman's Bay Resort occupies a peninsula in White Sand Lake. Rent one of the old-school pine-paneled cabins just a few steps from the water.
French Lake Resort on French Lake
French Lake Resort on the lake of the same name gives the Wisconsin bass fisherman options. Drop a line in the 92-acre spring-fed lake outside your fishing cabin, or head down the road to Spring Landing on the 19,000-acre Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, the resulting lake from the damming of two good bass rivers. Modern two-bedroom cottages come with a boat and motor and your own private dock.
Meyer's Northern Paradise on Big Sand Lake
Big Sand Lake offers 1,400 acres and a healthy stock of smallmouth and largemouth bass. So this is an excellent place to make base camp with cabins offering your own fish cleaning facilities, a private pier, and even boat and motor rentals. A two-unit stone cottage offers up to three bedrooms. There's even a freezer for your catch. This entry was posted in Places to Stay
