Have a hankering for something sweet? These fabulous Wisconsin dessert spots with Instagram-worthy sweets will amaze your eyes (and stomach).

Tamara’s the Cake Guru - Oshkosh

The name says it all in this case. Tamara’s stocks a minimum of 12 cupcake flavors a day out of their 600 “Fabu-Lux” offerings. Their over-the-top (and oversized), eye-popping cupcake creations have included a triple chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate whip and sprinkles and dipped in chocolate ganache, and a tutti-frutti ’cake with fruit punch buttercream, sprinkled with Nerds candies. Be prepared for a jealousy-inducing social media snap!

Madison Sourdough Co. Patisserie - Madison

If you’ve heard of Ladurée in Paris, you know it’s the world’s top macaron destination. Now the Midwest has one too: Madison Sourdough Co. Patisserie. In addition to candy-colored macarons in scrumptious flavors (like lavender and lemon) they sell gorgeous French-inspired desserts like tarts, canelés and éclairs in a stylish, understated space.

Purple Door Ice Cream - Milwaukee

There may be nothing better than the humble ice cream cone! Purple Door Ice Cream will make your Instagram feed creamy and dreamy with a snap of one of their 20 “dipping cabinet” flavors from their Walker’s Point shop. Choose a single scoop or pile on a few flavors from their sophisticated offerings like spiced pear sorbet, fig and black tea, graham cracker and espresso bourbon chocolate chip. And if you like beer or wine flights, try one of Purple Door’s versions (hello, Instagram!) – a wonderful selection of four flavors in sampling sizes.

Honeypie - Milwaukee

There is a thing called a PieGram, and it’s glorious. Tailor-made for a social media share, Honeypie’s PieGram is a package of one, two or four 6” mini pies shipping directly to you or a loved one; and pies come in flavors such as blueberry citrus crumb, whiskey walnut pecan and caramel fudge twirl. The Bayview café’s pies are always made from scratch and use mostly local, Wisconsin-sourced ingredients so you can hashtag your shot #Sconnielove.

The Charmant - La Crosse

In reverence to its candy factory past, the Charmant, La Crosse’s only boutique hotel, has a Sweets Bar stocked with beautiful handmade chocolates from Milwaukee-based Indulgence Chocolates. This small-batch chocolatier was specifically chosen to resemble the types of chocolates the Charmant made, says hotel staff. Nibble on a pistachio, mulled cherry or other flavor from their weekly rotating stash.

Cheese Cake Heaven - Green Bay & Wisconsin Dells

Is it any surprise a place with ‘cheesecake’ in the name would make the list? With more than 90 total flavors (and 8 to 10 featured cheesecakes monthly) every month is a celebration of this classic dessert at this Green Bay and Wisconsin Dells spot. Order it by the slice, on a stick (!) or the whole ’cake to go. But be sure to capture a quick snap before you consume – it didn’t happen if it’s not on Instagram.
