Door County Lighthouses

For nearly 150 years, Wisconsin lighthouses have guided navigators through the state's Great Lakes shoreline and inland waters. Door County is home to 10 of the 35 lighthouses in Wisconsin. Most of the 10 are accessible with guided or self-guided tours.

Baileys Harbor Range Lights, located in Baileys Harbor, was built in 1870. This lighthouse is accessible year round and offers self-guided tours.

Chambers Island Lighthouse, located in Fish Creek, was built in 1886 and has been a 40-acre day park since 1976. The lighthouse is open to the public when the caretaker is present. The caretaker's office is now a museum of island and lighthouse history.

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, located in Peninsula State Park, was built in 1868. Thousands of visitors have caught a glimpse of what life was like for the lighthouse keeper and his family at Eagle Bluff Light in the 19th century. It is open for guided tours May through October. The tours take place every half-hour.

Other Door County lighthouses include Cana Island (part of Door County Maritime Museum), Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal North Pierhead Light, Sturgeon Bay Canal Station Lighthouse, Sherwood Point, Pilot Island Lighthouse and Gills Rock.
