With the weather changing from fall to winter and hockey season starting, I had time to sit down and think about the best vacation I have had. Coming from the land of 10,000 lakes and attending school at University of Notre Dame, I have witnessed a lot of beautiful country, but one of the most scenic and serine places I have visited was right here in Wisconsin.
Some college friends and I took a road trip up to Lake Geneva to stay at a friend’s grandparent’s lake house for the weekend. We had a fun time with all of our activities. When we were at the lake house, we would have bonfires, go to concerts at Alpine Valley, rope swing into the lake, go swimming and fishing, and just have a good time.
The best part of the vacation was being there with my friends, relaxing and having fun and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere. Looking back now, I wish I had more time to go back to the lake house, with its warm summer days and relaxing nights. Maybe next year I will end up there again but for now it is time to focus on hockey season for the Admirals and work on that Calder Cup!
