An Afternoon at the Milwaukee Public Museum

Do you have a history or science buff in the family? Or perhaps you’re looking for quick break from all the skiing and snowboarding this winter? We have a great indoor option for you: “Mummies of the World” at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

“Mummies of the World” opened December 17 and is the largest exhibition of mummies and related artifacts, and features 150 human and animal mummies from various parts of the world like South America, Europe, Asia and Egypt!  Artifacts that are thousands of years old and you’ll be able to get a close-up look at them.

The exhibit also includes interactive, multimedia consoles that give more insight into how science is used to study mummies.  And if that isn’t enough for you, the Milwaukee Public Museum’s Humphrey IMAX Dome Theater will be featuring “Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs.”  So, take it all in and spend an afternoon at the Museum.  And as long as you’re in the area, stop by Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin for even more interactive fun!

Did we mention that Milwaukee is the second city in the country – Los Angeles being the first – to host the “Mummies” exhibit?  See, when we say you’ll do and see things in Wisconsin that you haven’t experienced before, we weren’t kidding.
