The 2011 Eau Claire Jazz Festival

Wisconsin is gearing up for warm weather and that can only mean one thing… festival season is almost upon us! Outdoor tents, live music and festival food, if you’re craving the first taste of summer you’re in luck.

Enjoy 4 days of live jazz at the annual Jazz Festival in Eau Claire this weekend! This year’s festival features critically acclaimed jazz saxophonist Eric Marienthal, Afro-Latin drumming sensation, Bobby Sanabria, The Hornheads and the United States Air Force Band, Shades of Blue.

You won’t want to miss the Jazz Art Crawl that accompanies the festival. It features jazz inspired artwork displayed at venues throughout Chippewa Valley. End your day or weekend visit with a stop at Stella Blues, a Cajun restaurant and blues bar. Or take a tour of the renowned Leinenkugel Brewery or Autumn Harvest Winery.

Oh, and as long as we’re on the topic, be sure to mark your calendars for the Capital City Jazz Fest in Madison later this month or Jazz on the Vine in May at the Osthoff Resort.

Enjoy!
