Wisconsin Hunting Destinations
Last Updated: 12/31/2013
Wisconsin’s fall colors are peaking and it’s that transition time between fall and winter...you know, the calm before the snow that delights snowmobilers and skiers alike. Well, to hunters, this is a golden time of the year.
Northern Wisconsin is a hunter’s dream. Shimmering lakes and waterways, rich forest, meadows and cascading streams lure people from in and around the state. From the wild and beautiful St. Croix River to the deep waters of Lake Superior, this is the land of the adventurer.
Wisconsin is particularly suited for hunting because of its diverse terrain. The mix of forest, grassland, prairie, wetland, lake and farmland provides varied habitat for wildlife. For proof of successful hunts, just talk to Bob Decker. During the 2008 hunting season he shot a 16-pointer with several of its tines longer than 13 inches!
While, hunting season is well under way for certain game, the famed gun-deer season is just around the corner. (For DNR licensing click here). That means Widows Weekends for the many wives and families left at home. From shopping to a day at the spa, there’s plenty of indoor fun.
Here’s to a safe hunting season in Wisconsin! This entry was posted in Hunting
