Festive Holiday Events in Wisconsin
Posted on: 12/3/2011
When it comes to a night out, Wisconsin has the sensational shows to turn your evening into an event. Whether you're on a budget or looking to indulge, these intimate venues or elegant concert halls provide a star-studded array of choices.
If you’re looking for a big night out, The Fireside Theater in Fort Atkinson is your place. Enjoy dinner and a live performance all in one. Their holiday show, A Fireside Christmas, runs October 27th – December 22nd. Adult admission starts at $76.00 and include both dinner and the show. Amazing choreography combined with beautiful singing makes this a night to remember.
If you’re new to Milwaukee, find the building covered in beautiful, multi-colored LED lights. We’re talking about the elegant Marcus Center for the Performing Arts and from December 10th - 26th, you can see the Milwaukee Ballet’s interpretation of the timeless classic, The Nutcracker. With tickets ranging from $28 to $74, this is the city’s biggest holiday spectacle.
Running from December 9th through the 23rd, the old-fashioned, yet modern Capitol Theater in Madison presents Charles Dickens’ masterpiece, A Christmas Carol. Performed by the Children’s Theater, this show wonderfully captures the holiday spirit. Tickets range from $20 to $35.
For something a bit more unique we recommend Fanny Hill Victorian Inn & Dinner Theatre in Eau Claire. Their original comedy, "A Very RUDYful Christmas", runs from November 4th through January 15th. A story filled with relatable characters and sidesplitting scenes, this is a show the whole family will enjoy. Tickets range from $33 to $43 and include dinner.
If you’re in the mood for an interactive show, The Alchemist Theatre in Bay View hosts a holiday-themed murder mystery “Who Killed the Ghost of Christmas Past?” Don’t expect to kick back and relax here; all audience members are expected to participate! Wander around the theatre for clues and search for evidence. This event makes a great date night and tickets are only $15.
