Milwaukee Holiday Festivities Light the Way
Last Updated: 11/13/2014
Milwaukee’s Holiday Light Festival is in full swing!
What better time to get out and enjoy a winter weekend. Besides hundreds of events, downtown Milwaukee shines bright by transforming three Milwaukee parks into a kaleidoscope of color with animated scenes, dancing luminaries and vibrant tree lights.
- Cathedral Square Park invites 60 schools and over 2,000 students to add festive cheer for their "Community Spirit Park" theme. Every newly raised evergreen represents a class theme with handmade ornaments by its students.
- "Candy Cottage Forest" at Pere Marquette Park is a candyland sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Travel to an almost-edible wonderland filled with gingerbread men and candy canes. Feast your eyes on sugary sculptures and a special gingerbread house.
- "Frosty Frolics" is the theme at Zeidler Union Square where Jack and Jill Frost are celebrated with twinkling sculptures. See these snow people juggle, skate and ski their way to outdoor fun.
Make it easy on yourself and hop on the Jingle Bus. For just a dollar, you’ll enjoy a 40-minute narrated tour of the festive scenes. It all starts at the Shops of Grand Avenue with cocoa, coffee and cookies. Kids even receive a holiday themed coloring book!
For more holiday excitement, check out the Milwaukee Ballet Company’s dazzling performance of The Nutcracker. Experience a world filled with marching soldiers, flying angels, and the sound of a live orchestra. This holiday classic sets the bar high for entertainment for all ages!
So go on, add a little magic to the season! This entry was posted in Seasonal
