Make a Wisconsin resort your home-away-from-home for Christmas or New Year’s, and you’ll enjoy all of the family time, fun and food – with none of the work or worry. Here are our favorite picks – they all offer special seasonal activities, relaxing accommodations, spa treatments, and first-class dining. And, they’re all Travel Green Wisconsin Certified for their environmentally friendly business practices:
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, Lake Geneva’s Christmas packages include shows at the Forum Theater: “Thomas & Friends: A Holiday Adventure” or “A Christmas Portrait,” a musical trip down memory lane. Hop on the Trolley Tour of Lights and enjoy the elaborate Christmas displays (pictured above). Or stay for New Year’s Eve and enjoy skiing and snowboarding and then a night of festivities, topped off with fireworks over the ski hill.
The Abbey Resort & Avanti Spa in Fontana offers a “Tis the Season” package with options including brunch with Santa, the “Christmas Remembered” dinner show, festive lights, caroling, and bonfires. Their New Year’s Eve Celebration Packages offer add-on options including a kids’ half-night of fun, a waterside party, and a four-course dinner.
Heidel House Resort & Spa, Green Lake has a family-friendly Christmas event on December 14, a day full of activities including breakfast with Santa, carriage rides, an ornament and cookie workshop, and story time with Mrs. Claus. On New Year’s Eve, dance to an orchestra in the Ballroom and dine on steak or lobster, party in the casual BoatHouse Pub, or enjoy an intimate dinner and piano music at the “kind of swanky” restaurant, Grey Rock.
The Osthoff Resort & Aspira Spa, Elkhart Lake hosts an Old World Christmas Market featuring international artisans, delicacies and Christmas music from December 6-15, 2013. On Saturdays December 7, 14, and 21, 2013 the Osthoff offers breakfast with Santa, children’s holiday workshops, and hayrides; on Sundays December 8 and 15, 2013, join St. Nicholas and one of his (real) reindeer for a holiday brunch. And as you’d guess, sumptuous celebrations are in store for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.
Treat yourself and your family to a new level of fun, relaxation, and comfort for the holidays. If you’re thinking of spending Christmas or New Year’s at a Wisconsin resort, our Trip Planner can help you make the most of every minute. This entry was posted in Spas
