Adventure Junkies: Rock Climbing Awaits
Posted on: 6/18/2012
Rock climbing combines the breathtaking beauty of the great outdoors with the challenge of sport and teamwork. So, whether you’re an experienced climber or just learning the ropes (pun intended), remember to practice safety measures and climb with friends or a professional – especially if you’re climbing outside.
Follow our rock climbing tips below and reach for the rock with a little help from a pro.
Rock Climbing for Beginners: Learn the basics at Adventure Rock, located in Pewaukee. Supervised classes are available on the gym’s indoor walls. In Madison, Boulders Climbing Gym boasts 8,000 square feet of climbing space, a fun challenge for experts and newbies alike. Take an energizing class with friends, and even book parties at this fun spot.
Indoor/Outdoor Explorers: In addition to adventurous activities like whitewater rafting and a 60-foot high rope climb, Wildman Adventure Resort offers outdoor rock climbing and rappelling at its Menominee River outpost in Niagra. All trips are led and supervised by professional climbers.
Experience Required: The rock formations at Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo are a destination for enthusiasts. The park offers guided climbing packages, as well as caving, kayaking, and more for the adventurous. So take some friends and enjoy a weekend of hiking and camping.
You can find even more rock climbing locations on our travel list. Wherever you hang in the spectrum of experience, have fun and stay safe with proper equipment. Rock on!This entry was posted in Things to Do
