Day Trip Idea: Antiquing in Wisconsin

As a state rich in farming, industry, and culture, it’s no Wisconsin antiquing is a popular winter pastime. Beat the cold and head indoors, add in a few must-see stops, and you’ve got yourself a Wisconsin day trip. Here are a few itineraries to consider:

The Antiques Mall of Madison have an enormous selection of fine jewelry, tin toys, Steiff, furniture and whatever else your antiquing-heart should desire. As long as you’re in the Madison area, a tour of the State Capitol is in order. When you’re finished, stop by Quivey’s Groverecommended by past blogger, Mark Tauscher of the Green Bay Packers for their delicious fish fry!

Head north to the Fox Valley region and try your luck at the Fox River Antique Mall or Crescent Moon Antiques & Salvage. Toys, furniture, architectural antique salvage and more, you’re sure to find something you’ll love. Add to the history of your day with a visit to the Hearthstone Historic House Museum – the first home in the world lit by a hydroelectric station! Top off the trip by a sit-down meal at Stone Cellar Brewpub. Enjoy English Style Pub favorites and great brews on tap.
