Highways and Byways: Motorcycling in Wisconsin
Last Updated: 8/30/2013
As the celebrated home of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Wisconsin has a long history of biking culture. The state’s gorgeous countryside makes for a great ride with open roads slicing through from flat farmland and rocky cliffs, rolling hills and wavy waterfronts.
Late summer and early fall are especially popular times for cycling. Wisconsin’s scenic byways and rustic roads are perfect for a leisurely weekend ride. For a smooth cruise hop onto the recently re-paved roads of Highway 33 between Madison and La Crosse. A scenic trip up (or down) Highway 51, known as Wisconsin’s version of Route 66, is another popular route.Things to Do and tagged Outdoor Fun
