Day 37: Stevens Point: A Much Needed Rest
While our bicycle ride did much to refresh my spirits, I’m afraid it left much of my body feeling exhausted. In addition my excavation team seems to have been bitten by the summer vacation bug, if you will. We’ve taken the past four days to relax. (After our water ski and waterslide discovery, it is a break well earned!)
We’ve filled the hours with a bevy of activities, including a relaxing visit to the Stevens Point Sculpture Park, a 20- acre mix of art and nature, followed by a tasty trip to the Silver Coach, a restaurant housed in a refurbished 1903 railroad car. An unimaginably delightful round of golf at the nearby SentryWorld Sports Center then ensued. Of course, plenty of biking, hiking, and fishing at Schmeeckle Reserve were included.
A worthwhile breather, but in order to stay on pace with our schedule, I shall have to relocate sites yet again…
More to Come,
