Local Craft Breweries

Day 91: Brews in the Northwoods

Tea will always be first in my book, but I’ve come to appreciate the taste of a frosty Wisconsin craft brew. I simply cannot help it; the entire state is steeped in brew-history. My first brewery tour back in June was merely a sample. As I now consider myself an honorary Wisconsinite, I most literally thirst for more!

To further expand my knowledge of the subject, my team and I embarked on a voyage to Chippewa Falls for a tour of the seventh-oldest brewery in America, the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Leinenkugel offers daily tours for FREE! We began and ended at the Leinie Lodge, where we sampled award-winning Leinenkugel beers and for the first time, memories of my favorite British pubs began fading away.

Of course, delicious and satisfying local delicacies are a source of great pride in Wisconsin. The enjoyment is all in the consumption, however. From famous state fair cream puffs to the refreshing gulp of a tasty brew, Wisconsin truly is the origin of fun.

A very satisfied,
Miles
