Sleigh Rides in Wisconsin
Last Updated: 12/16/2013
The snow gently falls as the ‘clomp’ of horse hooves hit the ground. You’re cozied up under a warm blanket as a horse drawn sleigh carries you through the Wisconsin countryside. Okay, maybe we laid it on a bit thick there, but this isn’t a scene from some iconic holiday song…it’s a real possibility in Wisconsin.
There are plenty of places where you can enjoy an old-fashioned sleigh ride. Some stops even offer hot chocolate or a bonfire to help you warm up afterwards.
Mayberry’s Carriages in Sturgeon Bay offers nostalgic, narrated sleigh rides or wagon rides for groups year round. You’ll follow old logging trails as you glide through the woods, before returning to sample wines and ciders, all made on site.
Brandt’s Sleigh & Wagon Rides in Antigo offers two-hour tours on groomed trails. Riders are welcome to bring food or beverages for a post-ride cookout over a bonfire. Tables, fire and grills are provided.
Rocking L. Acres Sleigh Rides in McFarland offers rides day or night and on weekends. Watch the horses being hitched up before hopping in for some fun. Warm up afterwards by a toasty wood-burning stove and enjoy hot beverages, cookies and stories from your driver.
There are plenty more sleigh rides just like these around Wisconsin. Just be sure to dress for the season! This entry was posted in Winter Activities
