Located in the heart of Wisconsin, Portage County is home to a variety of outdoor recreation, on land and in the water, art, and excellent food and drink, including breweries. With more than 40 lakes and miles of rivers, it’s an angler's paradise. Kayak or canoe the waterways to experience a different view of Portage County’s beautiful landscapes. Those who prefer keeping both feet on land will enjoy hiking or biking the miles of trails in Portage County. One great example is the more than 30 mile Green Circle Trail that circles the city of Stevens Point and winds along some of the picturesque waterways in Portage County.
