Gordon Dam County Park
Working dam, fishing, boating, & play equipment available. Restrictions: Pets on leash. The park is 80 acres. The Gordon Dam marks the entrance to the pristine St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Its flowage and marshes provide excellent habitat for aquatic and terrestrial Northwoods' wildlife including white-tailed deer, bear, bobcat, snowshoe hare, coyote, red fox, timber wolf, fisher, mink, otter and beaver. Located on the St. Croix Flowage (Gordon Flowage) in the town of Gordon, this park offers visitors 33 total camping sites: 12 with electric hook-up and 21 non-electric campsites, containing fire rings, picnic tables, and benches. The park has opportunities for picnicking, boating, swimming, hiking, wildlife viewing, and excellent fishing opportunities. Other amenities include a fish cleaning house, canoe and boat launch with a handicap accessible dock, children's playground, newer vault toilets, several picnic sites with grills, and an official "Watchable Wildlife" viewing area.
From junction of US 53 & County Road Y in Gordon, west 7 miles on Y. The park and dam are on the west end of the St. Croix Flowage. There is a gravel and paved parking area.
