South Wood County Park
Located on 332 acres surrounding the 148 acre Lake Wazeecha, which is the Indian term for “lake of the land of the pines.” The lake offers ample opportunities for boating, water skiing and fishing. A variety of panfish, bass and northern pike were stocked in the lake during the county’s dredging project in 1994. Lake Wazeecha is famous for hosting the Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championship. Totaling more than 330 acres, the park features two beach areas (White Sands and Red Sands), a boat launch, an accessible area to fish for people with disabilities, picnic areas, playgrounds, a 4.1 mile biking/hiking trail, disc golf course, and shelter buildings.
Camping available; dump station, electricity, grills, showers, toilets, wood and ice available. The Wood County Parks and Forestry Department takes campsite and shelter reservations 12 months in advance. The season runs May 1st - October 31st.
