Ashland

 

Ashland, at the foot of the bay, is the Ashland County seat. Historically, the city was once a center for lumbering, mining, brownstone quarrying and Great Lakes shipping. Two miles west of town, the Northern Great Lakes Visitors Center details the area’s regional history and culture in a series of wonderful exhibits.
