A walk down Mineral Point's Main Street evokes a stroll through a Cornish village. Miners from Cornwall, England were among the first to settle the area. They constructed stone buildings like those in their homeland. Many of their homes have been carefully restored and are part of the city’s remarkable historic district. Today, artisans and craftsmen of all types work here. Their presence contributes to a vibrant shopping environment that includes galleries and working studios as well as antique and specialty shops.
