Baraboo
The first weekend of March was officially designated Aldo Leopold Weekend in Wisconsin by Governor Doyle in 2004. The Aldo Leopold Foundation works with an ever-growing number communities across the state to help plan, coordinate, and promote events on that weekend. Events have blossomed to include a wide variety of environmental, sustainability, and nature themed activities, all recognizing Leopold as one of Wisconsin’s most famous environmental heros, celebrate Wisconsin’s natural resources and outdoor heritage, and the state’s rich conservation legacy.
