Alma Eagles On Ice

November 19, 2011 - March 31, 2012

Alma

A rare opportunity to view wintering bald eagles sitting on the ice below Lock & Dam #4 in Alma, Wisconsin. Because of the open water all winter, eagles have found Alma to be a favorite spot to feed. Bald eagles can be viewed the entire length of the city of Alma but are especially visible from the 50-foot viewing deck at Wings Over Alma Nature & Art Center. From late November through March, you will see dozens to hundreds of bald eagles sitting on the ice and in the trees. This is a spectacular occurrence and one that should not be missed.
