The Cowboy Junkies is a Canadian country music and alternative rock band that formed in Toronto in 1985. Three of the band’s members - singer Margo Timmins; songwriter, producer and guitarist Michael Timmins; and drummer Peter Timmins - are siblings, and bassist Alan Anton has been a member since the group formed. Few bands have lasted nearly as long with their original line-up intact, and fewer still have created as consistently satisfying a body of work. The Trinity Session is perhaps the Cowboy Junkies’ best known album, recorded live on a single microphone at the Church of the Holy Trinity in downtown Toronto by producer Peter J. Moore. This album included a cover of The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane,” which has been featured in films such as Natural Born Killers and The Good Girl.
