Oshkosh
This dynamic exhibition features the work of two distinguished contemporary artists with Wisconsin ties. Bright, luminous landscapes are the trademark of midwestern painter Rodger Bechtold. Bechtold often paints in Door County, finding inspiration in its pristine beauty, pure light, and weathered barns. On the other hand, Milwaukee-based Richard Taylor creates colorful painted metal sculptures, ranging from whimsical freestanding works to complex wall installations inspired by music and poetry. While the two artists share a natural affinity in their use of color and their midwest roots, the exhibition also explores the intriguing differences between their works. In March floral designers will create beautiful fresh arrangements inspired by the artworks for the Paine’s third annual Rooms of Blooms presentation.
