Milwaukee

Andre’ Lee Ellis & Company is proud to announce their return to Vogel Hall with “JITNEY” by August Wilson. The seventh of a ten series of plays written by Wilson “JITNEY” is set in the Hill District of Pittsburgh 1970’s when Black people could not get a taxi to service them in certain neighborhoods. Black men would rent out a space and place a desk and telephone there and people could call for a ride. The focus is what went on inside the “JITNEY” station and the effect it had on their daily Lives. Website www.marcuscenter.org Details Address
