Soak up the beauty of the Kickapoo Valley and enjoy the spectacular fall colors on miles of equestrian trails. Join the KVR Horsepower Group for a weekend of riding and camping. Weekend program includes: guided rides on Saturday, pot-of-chili meal Saturday night, evening campfires, coffee and rolls on Sunday morning, trail pace, scavenger hunt and poker run with prizes, door & raffle prizes. self-guided tour of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center including interactive exhibits.
Terrain is primarily challenging in hilly terrain with some water crossings; easy to moderate segments available. A special camp area will be prepared for trailers, horses, mules, and their riders, with a camp host, will open at noon on Friday. Potable water and toilet facilities will be available. Rental cabins and alternative lodging lists available upon request.
A fee of $40 per horse and rider and $20 per horse and rider for ages 16 & under and non-riders (includes 2 nights camping and 3 days trail passes). Rain or shine event. Current negative Coggins test necessary for all horses/mules. Bring original and leave a copy. Attendance limited to 40 riders. Registration deadline September 15!
