It's time to party to a blues beat at the big blue Big Top on this holiday weekend. We'll start a little early tonight with some surprise blues musicians yet to be announced. But we want to leave plenty of time for Robert Cray to do his thing as he did in 2007 when he rocked the tent with his contemporary, electric, soulful blues.
Robert Cray is THE Blues artist for today. Cray and the band have made 17 records, received 13 Grammy nominations and five wins, plus numerous W.C. Handy awards. In 2004 Robert Cray was inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk with Ike Turner, Etta James, and the late Muddy Waters (who called Robert his “adopted son.”) He has also been involved with several famous collaborations with B. B. King, Keb ’Mo’, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and Tina Turner. “Whenever the titans of the blues gather, Robert stands among them.” Modern Guitars Magazine.
