Tony Bennett: Live in Concert

Milwaukee

Because of Tony Bennett's ability to touch the hearts and souls of his audience and his amazing singing career that has spanned over 60 years, he is quite possibly one of the only artists who have defied the ‘Generation gap’ among his fans. Singing while waiting tables as a teenager, his natural and easy style of singing that was inspired by Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole was what got Mr. Bennett into the spotlight. Originally named Anthony Dominick Benedetto, comedian Bob Hope loved his singing so much that he went backstage to Mr. Bennett’s dressing room, more or less changed Mr. Bennett’s stage name to what it is today and skyrocketed his career by taking him to sing at the Paramount in 1949. The rest is history...still in the making. Named by the United Nations as a “Citizen of the World,” the honor aptly describes the scope of Tony Bennett’s appeal as an artist. Tony Bennett: Live In Concert is truly a night that everyone should experience. Tickets go on sale Mon January 9 at Noon and can be purchased at Marcus Center Box Office, by phone, or online. A $1 fee will be added to each ticket to support Exploring the Arts Inc. which is a non-profit corporation founded by Tony Bennett and Susan Benedetto to transform the lives of young people through arts education.
