"Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made Of" by Beki Borman and Darlene Wesenberg Rzezotarski
April 2 - 30, 2009
Monroe
Painting with acrylic and water media, Borman focuses on the subjects of trees, plants, and landscapes as a platform to investigate the presence of patterns and symmetry found in all living things. Through abstraction, contrast, and color she finds a key shape, and repeats it...or a telling angle, and then exaggerates it. Wesenberg Rzezotarski's whimsical sculptures come alive through the use of an extensive palate, layered glazes, engobes, underglazes, and lustres. Her avid interest in mythology, folklore, primitive art and folk art come through in each sculpture she creates.
