Loop Around the Lake

February 28, 2015

Minocqua

The 5th annual “River Valley Loop Around the Lake” 5K Ski/Snowshoe on Lake Minocqua begins in front of the Thirsty Whale and continues on an illuminated path toward the Hwy 51 Bridge, then around past the Bearskin Trestles before returning to the starting point. This is a family or individual jaunt presented by Excel Rehab & Spine Center and sponsored by numerous local businesses to benefit activities and academic development for both Arbor Vitae- Woodruff School and Minocqua J1 Schools. Following the walk, participants will enjoy food and concessions, hot chocolate, music, bonfire, lighting wish lanterns, and hot air balloon rides, all at the location of the Thirsty Whale. So, who can participate in this event? Everyone. Participants range in age from 1 to 100. Whether you are and experienced cc skier looking to improve your time or you are a walking family of 5 with children that want to be pulled by sled, you are sure to enjoy yourself. If making a loop around the lake is not your thing you can still show your support for the local schools by joining us at the Thirsty Whale for food, music, and other activities listed above. This is guaranteed to be another unique Northwood’s experience that only Minocqua Lake can offer.
