Butterflies of Wisconsin

Ann Thering’s award-winning photography will be on display at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. Her photography features insects you will want to take a closer look at. Her artful bugs include everything from exquisite green butterflies to curious spiders. She captures the magical bits of insects that makes them so amazing to look at. Many insects go unnoticed, such as the tiny blue butterflies found in early spring or the white and sparkly gold butterflies found only in dry barrens habitats. Ann Thering will give a special summer presentation on "Butterflies of Wisconsin" Wednesday, July 10th, at 7pm. Ann lives in Madison and travels throughout Wisconsin to photograph butterflies and other insects. She is a founding member of the Wisconsin chapter of the North American Butterfly Association. Her presentation will include her beautiful images of butterflies along with the information needed to help you become more aware of what they need to survive and how to better at recognize these brilliantly colored insects. Everyone is invited to come and learn about all the beautiful insects in your own backyard! All presentations are free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Friends of Horicon Marsh International Education Center.
