What fun! Artists paint outdoors (en plein air) and submit their works of art for prizes and auction. The contest is named for Evansville native Theodore Robinson, an artist who lived 1852 to 1896, and was a well regarded contemporary of Monet's. Artists pay a small fee to receive a specially marked canvas. They must paint outdoors, and choose a landscape within a boundary surrounding Evansville. Completed, framed and ready-to-hang artworks will be submitted by October 5, when they will be judged. Art will be on display and auctioned the same day at Emma's Table in Evansville. Post auction, the art will be exhibited at Creekside Place. This event is coordinated by the community's cultural group, Evansville Community Partnership.
