The annual Prairie Fest, organized by the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum committee, is a FREE family-oriented environmental education event with activities for all ages.

The 2022 event will feature:

9:00 a.m.: Nature Pop-up Presentation/Talk featuring Anne Pearce, woody invasive plants

9:00 a.m.-noon: Youth Obstacle Course, kids crafts and activities (face painting with Amy Priessnitz 9:30-11:30)

9:30 a.m.: Yoga in the Prairie led by Lucy Mathers

10:00 a.m.: Native Plant ID Walk led by Amanda Abramovich from Native Niche

10:30 a.m. Kids walk/Camp Reading Storybook Walk lead by Tracy McDermott, Gottfried Prairie & Arboretum

11:00-11:30 a.m.: Nature Pop-up Presentation/Talk featuring Alayne Peterson, nature writing/journaling

11:30 a.m.: Butterfly Release led by Tracy McDermott
