Evansville is a lovely historic community in southern Wisconsin. Settled in 1839, this city of 5,000 has three historic districts with almost 200 structures--and one park--listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Customized, personalized walking tours with knowledgeable local history experts are offered. To make arrangements, simply call ahead. For walkers interested in going at your own pace, a booklet with a map and brief descriptions is available. Free copies of the brochure can be picked up at Eager Free Public Library, Creekside Place and other downtown businesses. Or go online for a shortened version.
