Find out how things used to be made with this educational fest. Artisans skilled in rosemaling, candlemaking, woodcarving, blacksmithing, rugmaking, painting and other “lost arts” demonstrate their techniques at this event sponsored by the Iola Historical Society. Some items are offered for sale. Children will enjoy trying out the vintage cornshucker! The artisans hone their crafts in the historic buildings (firehouse, school, depot, log cabin, town hall) on the Historical Society’s grounds, which are also open to the public. The buildings contain artifacts from Iola’s past. A vintage tractor display; goats and miniature horses; and children’s games round out the event. Admission is free, although a donation is requested. The Iola Lions run a food concession during the event.
