Wright and Like Tour 2016: Racine
This Frank Lloyd Wright Wisconsin event features guided interior tours of private homes and public buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright and his contemporaries. Advance tickets are $60 for FLLW WI members; $70 non-members. Ticket can be purchased by phone or online. Attendees receive driving maps along with their tickets and then visit the sites in any order they wish during tour hours. This year’s theme “Sixty Years of Organic Architecture” begins in 1905 with Frank Lloyd Wright’s lakefront Thomas P. Hardy House and concludes in 1965 with The Prairie School in nearby Wind Point, designed by Wright’s apprentice Charles Montooth and Taliesin Architects. Along with being a tour site, the Prairie School will act as our tour headquarters on Saturday providing a place to purchase last minute tickets, see a display of scale model Wright designed buildings, and shop a select group of vendors such as Shining Brow Booksellers.
