This one-man show, starring Sandy Hackett, and directed by Lisa Dawn Miller, pays homage to Sandy’s father, legendary comedian Buddy Hackett. “To anyone who had a best friend and lost them, this show is for you,” says Sandy. “Writing this has been a labor of love; performing this will be cathartic. My father said, ’never lose your sense of humor.’ He’s been gone eight years and somehow he still makes me laugh every day. I think it’s time to share those laughs.” Producer/Director Miller says, “Buddy Hackett was not just a comic genius, but a comedy and film legend that inspired and paved the way for so many comedians, actors and performers today. He deserves to have his story told. It’s about the love, respect and adoration between father and son – and believing in a force and wisdom that guides and inspires you every day. The show will make you laugh and cry.” Through original, distinctive, humorous and poignant Hackett storytelling, Sandy takes the audience on a journey of comedy and life – sharing songs, video and never-before-seen photos from the personal family archives. He recreates some of his father’s legendary comedy moments and, for the first time, reveals the pain of the tragic events ripping his family apart, shortly after his father’s passing in 2003.
