The Wayans Brothers at Potawatomi
In 1990, the world of comedy welcomed an irreverent sketch comedy that changed the playing field. In Living Color debuted to critical acclaim and adoration by millions of American fans varied in ethnicity. Leading the charge was trailblazing creator, writer, director, producer and actor, Keenen Ivory Wayans. The second of ten children, Keenen was the first sibling to achieve national prominence after starring in bit roles in Hollywood and ultimately writing and directing films. His success culminated when he created, launched and hosted the landmark 1990s black-oriented comedy satire, In Living Color— igniting and advancing the careers of his younger siblings and extended family. Damon Wayans, just a few years younger than Keenen, followed in his brother’s footsteps and pursued comedy. Damon started his career in the early ’80s as a stand-up comedian and landed a role as a featured player on Saturday Night Live. By the time In Living Color aired, Damon was already a staple in the comedy world, fueling the popularity of the sketch comedy. Over a decade apart in age from Damon, brothers Shawn and Marlon, also ever-present on In Living Color, later found success in comedy as they continue to write and star in irreverent comedic spoofs and satires that are trademarks of their family business. Now, almost 15 years after the first episode of In Living Color aired, these four Wayans brothers unite for a night of comedy. Performing, talking and just being the funny brothers they are, the family business is put on display for all to see, and to laugh at! $75/$65/$55. Must be 21 or older. -
