Todd Snider & Corey Chisel
Cory Chisel is an old believer. You can hear it in his music – there’s wisdom beyond his years in that voice. You can see it in his story – the son of a preacher, sheltered from pop music, raised on hymns and Johnny Cash. Cory grew up in the iron range town of Babbit, Minnesota, and the rural flatlands of Appleton Wisconsin. Cory’s music is described as Americana and Folk Rock. Todd Snider is an Alt-Folk singer/songwriter who has been compared to John Prine, “probably because they both write songs that are funny and poignant” says Bill Thompson, a music blogger at cincinnati.com. Todd says of his own music: “”I was just trying to come up with the best… most open hearted … well-thought-out lyrics I could come up with. I wanted every song to be sad and funny at the same time, vulnerable and entertaining at the same time, personal and universal at the same time…” Todd can be controversial and edgy, singing about politics, socio-economic observations, environmental issues, mind-altering substances, and the human condition. And his fans love him for it.
