Hamlin Garland Homestead

Hamlin Garland, a Pulitzer prize winning author, was born in West Salem in 1860. The West Salem Historical Society has preserved and restored his home to the time period of 1912-15. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Hours of Operation

Memorial Day-Labor Day: 1pm-5pm daily last tour at 4:30. Other dates and times available by appointment.
